Information Officer / Analyst – Law

An international law firm with a UK site in the City of London has an opportunity for an experienced information professional to join their London based Information function a provide a range of Information and KM based services to their European and Asian based teams of lawyers.

The primary objectives and responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing research and competitive intelligence services in support of matters and business development
  • Working with an internationally dispersed KM team to support on projects and services relating to SharePoint, HighQ and other KM systems and platforms
  • Providing and developing the current awareness services and capabilities
  • Driving engagement with the Research and KM functions throughout the UK, Europe and Asia
  • Developing the research capabilities within the firm through the delivery of training and supporting documentation
  • Seeking out the needs and requirements of stakeholders to deliver continuous improvement in the way KM/IM services are delivered

Suitable candidates will need the following experience and skills:

  • Previous experience in a similar Information Services role, gained from either a law firm or professional services environment
  • Extremely well developed legal and business research skills and experience with the mainstream digital resources such as LexisNexis
  • The ability to engage with stakeholders, to develop relationships and to drive engagement
  • Experience delivering and developing current awareness services
  • A good understanding, and ideally exposure to KM Systems for collaboration such as SharePoint intranets
  • The ability to balance business as usual and project responsibilities
  • The ability to present, particularly in training or learning and development scenarios
  • A LIS or related qualification would be extremely desirable, but candidates qualified by experience will be equally considered.
