Senior Competitive Intelligence Analyst - Law

One of the worlds largest and most successful law firms has an opportunity for an Senior Competitive Intelligence Analyst to join their team. This is a senior position in the team that carries responsibility for mentoring less experienced team members and is responsible for providing a research and analysis service providing insight that feeds into the more strategic objectives of the firm such as business development, marketing, pitching and the identification of opportunities to develop the firms services

The principal objectives of the role include but are not limited to:

  • Working on a mix of enquiry driven and agenda driven research tasks and projects which are aligned to markets, industries, technologies, individuals and businesses
  • Collecting information and data from a variety of different sources and distilling this down to actionable insight
  • Producing insight driven outputs such as reports, presentations, thought pieces and slide decks
  • The use of data and analytics tools to produce models and forecasts
  • Mentoring, training and assisting in the development of less experienced members of the team
  • Driving a research agenda and the identification of tactical opportunities for the firm to develop it's service or engage further with existing clients
  • Building relationships within the firm and its stakeholders to drive internal engagement and to add value

Suitable candidates require the following experience and skills:

  • Considerable experience in a similar research and analysis role, preferably with some experience mentoring less experienced team members
  • Ideally a professional services background, but candidates from consulting, market intelligence or similar will be equally considered
  • The ability to distil information and data from a wide array of sources into actionable insights
  • The ability to produce a variety of outputs such as slide-decks, presentations, reports and thought leadership pieces
  • An accomplished communicator and the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels
  • Some experience around Tableau or similar tools would be extremely beneficial
  • Intellectual curiosity. The role requires someone who is engaged with the world around them and external factors that present both risks and opportunities
  • A relevant degree would be extremely beneficial, but candidates qualified by experience will be equally considered
