Newly created!  A boutique investment firm requires a Research Associate to join their expanding London based team.  This role involves supporting their banking teams in Europe by delivering timely and accurate research using a wide range of industry standard platforms. The role is ideally suited to someone with current or recent experience working in a similar environment. However, the firm will also consider applicants with experience working in other commercial environments, ie law, consulting, or general professional services. The position is based in London but offers a hybrid working pattern. (possibility of a permanent position)

Main Responsibilities include:

  • Operating in a helpdesk environment and responding to requests in an accurate and timely manner
  • Supporting bankers with research tasks that can differ in complexity, topics, and output requirements
  • Conduct in-depth research and gather relevant information to address specific business questions and needs
  • Collaborate closely with banking teams to understand their information requirements and provide tailored insights
  • Previous experience in a similar research and analysis capacity, ideally gained in an investment bank  or similar professional services environment
  • Supporting departmental or wider knowledge, research, and information services project work

To be considered for this role you will need the following skills and experience:

  • An ability to leverage or embrace technology such as PowerBI or AI to support research and analysis tasks
  • Ability to work using own initiative and as a team member, maintaining a professional positive attitude at all times is essential
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business, data science, analytics or a related field
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with proficiency in data analysis tools
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively convey complex information
  • Knowledge of financial statements, valuation methodologies, and investment banking processes
  • Familiarity with financial databases, data sources, and research tools
  • Fluency in English, with additional language skills preferred
  • Experience in investment banking, consulting, or a similar role
