Research Analyst - Law - London

A global law firm with a large, innovative and award winning Library and Research team has an opportunity for an information professional to join their team as a Research Analyst and be based out of London. The focus of the role is around the provision of a research and analysis service covering both legal and business topics and very often with a view to providing actionable insights. The role would suit someone at a similar level already, or someone that is looking to take a slight step up and would benefit from working alongside an extremely bright and supportive team of peers. 

In this Research Analyst role, the primary objectives include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing customised research and analytics service across legal, business and other subjects
  • Supporting with subject and industry research aligned with the firm’s practice and business areas
  • Delivering a tailored and curated current awareness service 
  • Evaluation and continuous improvement relating to the effectiveness of the distribution and value of current awareness to users
  • The provision of training on resources and research methods to stakeholders across the firm
  • Presenting to practice groups, colleagues and other departments on research tools and departmental developments
  • Supporting collection development including new digital resources, websites and printed materials
  • Undertaking small projects as part of a team or on an individual basis

To be a suitable candidate for this Research Analyst role, the following experience and skills are required:

  • Previous experience in a similar Research Analyst, Information Services or Law Library environment
  • Highly developed research skills that cover legal and business topics and utilise a variety of different resources
  • A LIS or related qualification would be extremely beneficial, but is not a pre-requisite 
  • The ability to work in a very collaborative and team orientated working environment
  • Strong relationship building, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to organise and manage a workload and respond effectively to conflicting stakeholder priorities
