Legal and Business Research Analyst – 3 month FTC - now likely to go permanent

Our client a respected law firm with global offices require a Legal and Business Research Analyst to join them on a three month fixed term contract.

This will be based remotely due to Covid19 however office locations are:

Birmingham /Glasgow/ Leeds/ Edinburgh

In order to be suitable our client requires the following experiences.

  • Legal Research experience gained in a professional services or financial services / consulting / investment environment
  • Excellent knowledge of available research applications and their relevance to the operations of the firm
  • Experience of designing and delivering training on online information products and research services
  • Familiarity with standard analytical models, research techniques and report writing

 

Duties will include:

  • Undertaking legal research projects and tasks, negotiating project scope, required inputs and outputs and liaising with internal and, where necessary, external parties and seeing those projects through to completion
  • Contributing to horizon watching initiatives in the firm, identifying potential issues and liaising with internal clients to establish their impact, tracking progress of those developments and highlighting milestones as appropriate
  • Proactively identifying legal research opportunities that can help inform legal research support, spot potential opportunities and deliver operational efficiencies.
  • Delivering high quality, accurate, timely and cost effective business intelligence and research to the firm, including regular intelligence on competitor activity as directed by the Research Manager and internal clients
  • Proactively identifying and delivering legal and on occasion business research and insight to inform and support our lawyers
  • Carrying out in-depth analysis on clients and producing reports which help inform decision making across the business, supporting Business Development and ultimately helping our firm to win more work
  • Using the firm's systems for recording research enquiries and associated reporting metrics, including recording chargeable time for research that relates to client matters
