Knowledge Systems Analyst – Law – London   

A global law firm with a City of London based HQ has a requirement within their Library and Knowledge Management function for a Knowledge Management Systems Analyst. This role is focused on supporting and developing the firms KM systems, portals and reporting capabilities and will require the successful candidate to also be an effective conduit between multiple functions and teams within the firm.

The primary responsibilities in this Knowledge Systems Analyst role include:

  • Monitor usage of taxonomy terms and collaborate with Knowledge Lawyers to improve them
  • Troubleshoot any technical issues with taxonomies
  • Ensure the Knowledge Portal meets global tagging requirements
  • Ensure the portal functions correctly, working with IT to fix any issues
  • Oversee adding new material/content to the portal and clean up data as needed
  • Watch user searches and activity for problems, suggesting ways to improve results
  • Contribute to system developments and maintain documentation
  • Work with IT to develop Power BI capabilities for reporting on knowledge collection
  • Understand the needs of Knowledge Lawyers and produce accurate Power BI reports
  • Index content for wider business reporting compatibility
  • Horizon scanning for knowledge management best practices and new technologies
  • Act as the main contact between Library and Knowledge Services and IT
  • Ensure IT support and training teams understand KM systems
  • Assist with internal communications about knowledge management systems

To be a suitable candidate for this role, the following is required:

  • Demonstrable expertise in knowledge management systems within a professional services environment
  • Proficiency in knowledge management software, databases, and associated tools
  • Qualifications in Information Science or Computer Science are advantageous but not a pre-requisite
  • Experience with Power BI and/or data analytics is a pre-requisite
  • Experience in querying data using SQL and DAX is highly advantageous
  • An ability to generate reports in various formats and translate IT and data management concepts into understandable language
  • Experience in system migration or transitions would be extremely beneficial
