Knowledge Solutions Manager - London, Jersey or Guernsey - Law

A leading offshore law firm has a requirement for a Knowledge Solutions Manager to be based out of Jersey, Guernsey or London and will play a key role in supporting the firms legal practice teams worldwide in delivering client services.

The role focuses on providing legal tools to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. These tools include automation, client portals, collaboration platforms and knowledge databases, all aimed at improving business processes, promoting knowledge sharing, developing talent, and supporting business growth. The manager will oversee translation of legal business needs into practical solutions.

In this Knowledge Solutions Manager role, the core objectives and responsibilities are as follows:

Implement and Communicate Knowledge Strategy

  • Help implement and communicate the Knowledge strategy for the Firm, ensuring alignment with the Firm’s business goals and client requirements.
  • Drive forward the integration and alignment of legal, client, and business knowledge solutions within the wider firm, utilizing existing platforms where possible.

Consolidate Knowledge Resources

  • Manage the consolidation of the Firm’s legal, client, and business knowledge resources to enable compatibility and availability across practice, industry, markets, and sectors.

Enhance Efficiency and Delivery

  • Help bring efficiencies to the setup and ongoing delivery of legal, client, and business knowledge content, improving the Firm’s ability to serve internal and external clients efficiently and cost-effectively.
  • Collaborate closely with practice and industry group lawyers, and Knowledge Lawyers to coordinate client-facing knowledge projects and ensure their successful implementation.

Innovative Use of Know-How

  • Assist with the Firm’s efforts to find innovative ways of using its know-how to add value to key client relationships, including offering revenue-generating services to clients.

Manage Knowledge Databases and Websites

  • Manage relevant knowledge databases and websites for internal and external use, maintaining their integrity on behalf of the business.

Measure ROI of Knowledge Initiatives

  • Ensure mechanisms are in place to measure the ROI of client and business knowledge initiatives and provide reporting as needed.


To be a suitable candidate for this Knowledge Solutions Manager requirement, the following skills and experience are required:

  • Considerable KM solutions experience, ideally gained from a law firm or professional services setting
  • Experience across a range of legal technology tools and solutions to include document automation and collaboration tools such as iManage and Contract Express
  • Highly developed communication, interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
  • The ability to operate in both a hands on, tactical and strategic approach
  • A high degree of commercial awareness and the ability to work with internal and external stakeholders
  • Previous experience managing and delivering projects, often concurrently 
  • The ability to adapt and to thrive in an environment where the team and stakeholders are dispersed across multiple geographic locations
  • A relevant degree or professional qualifications would be highly desirable, but are not essential
