Intranet & Knowledge Systems Executive - Law    

An extremely longstanding and international law firm that is based out of the UK has a requirement for an Intranet and Knowledge Systems Executive to join their KM function which is based out of their Bristol office. This is a new role in the firm and will play a key role in helping to manage and develop their intranet capability (based on SharePoint) and the role will supply an opportunity for the successful candidate to gain skills in wider KM related technologies such as Contract Express.

In this Intranet and Knowledge Systems role, the successful candidate will have the following objectives and responsibilities:

  • Initially, assisting in the development, management and engagement with KM systems firm-wide. In particular, the intranet
  • Assisting in the development of governance and information architecture (global site structure, navigational design, site and page level design, taxonomy and metadata)
  • Medium and longer term objectives will be to assume ownership of the Intranet and to be both an SME and evangelist
  • Providing a reporting service around engagement and usage of KM systems to help shape decision making
  • Engage with stakeholders on a proactive basis to define requirements and to respond to incoming requests for support, training and change
  • Manage the quality and lifecycle of content
  • Assist with knowledge systems projects such as the adoption of new solutions, upgrades and migrations

To be a suitable candidate for this Knowledge and Intranet Executive role, candidates will need the following experience and skills:

  • Previous experience with SharePoint. This will need to include editing and creating pages, and ideally a strong understanding of the structure of intranets
  • A passion for working with business information systems and the role of technology in a complex business environment
  • Strong communication, engagement and stakeholder facing skills.
  • An ability to manage conflicting priorities, projects and stakeholder needs
  • A demonstrable ability to quickly learn new technologies, systems and processes
  • The ability to spot opportunities to improve systems and processes
  • An interest in technology within a legal setting
  • Ideally, some previous experience in a similar complex corporate environment
  • A related degree would be extremely beneficial, but is by no means essential
