Just in! A global managed service provider is seeking an Information Manager to support their client, a leading global law firm. This varied role offers a wide range of activities including, leading delivery and client account management, answering higher level legal research requests, the provision of regular current awareness and know how to clients, training for clients on maximizing their information resources, and financial reporting and budget management.
Main responsibilities include:
- Lead delivery team, including line management / performance management of three Senior Information Officers, one Information Officer and two offshore Information Analysts
- Oversee the activities of other members of the Information Team
- Answering higher level and complex legal research requests. Monitoring and tracking trends in the enquiry service
- Management of the Information Service annual budget, tracking spending, reporting on resources, and monitoring trends. Identifying and piloting new databases or tools
- Providing expertise and support on the review/negotiation of renewals for larger electronic resources
- Actively promoting the service to end users
- Supporting the delivery of projects promoting a culture of continuous improvement
To be considered for this role you will need the following skills and experience:
- An information related qualification or equivalent professional experience
- 5+ years’ experience in an Information Service, preferably in a legal environment
- Ability to engage and effectively communicate with senior stakeholders
- Experience in undertaking higher level legal research and/or answering enquiries
- Extensive knowledge of key information and research databases
- Effective line manager and role model as Team Leader
- Organised and methodical
- Problem solving, Interpersonal skills, and flexibility
