An Information Officer is required by a professional services firm to support the Resource Management team in the delivery of a wide range of services including digital resource management, hard copy acquisition management, training materials for information resources and processes, the promotion and development of the service and day-to-day administration and management of information resources.  This role will also deal with entry level business and legal enquiries and intranet and systems management.  The role can be located in numerous locations throughout the UK.

Responsibilities include:

  • Collections management/administration
  • Procurement of journals, books and looseleafs - print and electronic
  • Liaising with clients regarding orders
  • Processing of new books (cataloguing and updaing LMS)
  • Journal administration
  • Reviewing new publications list
  • Administrative support around renewal of materials
  • Provide data to support electronic resource renewal/adoption
  • Password administration
  • Arranging for article copy requests to be provided
  • Schedule for physical library management 
  • Providing admin support for budgeting work where required
  • Supporting end to end joiners and leavers process, including updating of system access
  • Working with colleagues overseas to train them to support on these processes.
  • Intranet / systems management

To be considered for this role you will need the following skills and experience:

  • Degree or Equivalent Professional Experience in Information Management 
  • Good IT skills – especially relating to Excel, PowerPoint
  • Experience of Library Management Systems
  • Good level of numeracy
  • Previous experience in an information services or related role, preferably in the professional service sector.
  • Experience of organising information and updating electronic records
  • Experience of updating / using knowledge systems
  • Familiarity with key electronic and print resources used in legal sector
