Head of Content Licensing (contributors) – respected information provider

Our client a globally respected provider of market information and data require a Head of Content Licensing to lead their content licensing team (circa 5 staff).

The successful candidate will:

  • Develop new content partnerships with publishers and data providers and build solid professional relationships with the existing network of circa 2,500 partners, researching potential content opportunities and maximising the potential of each relationship.
  • Create annual content budgets, assess changes in financial terms of existing and new partnerships and keep track of licensing costs, forecasting data expenses on a quarterly basis.
  • Define and document, appropriate licensing and content audit processes in line with public information and intellectual property requirements. Oversee team compliance with all agreed processes.
  • Outline processes for assessing the profitability of licensed content to maximise ROI of current and new datasets.
  • Oversee royalty calculations, the correct generation of usage statements and supervise payments to data providers on a quarterly basis.
  • Maintain regular contact with the Sales and Account Management departments to enable a complete understanding of client needs, trends and requirements and ensure that the content strategy meets these needs.
  • Cooperate with the Marketing department to ensure they have up-to-date information for the marketing materials they prepare.
  • Represent the company at industry events and participate in client visits, as requested.
  • Stay abreast of market conditions/trends and provide sales and marketing teams with information on competitor activities and new technologies.

In order to be suitable, you will have experience of either:

  • Experience in strategic content acquisition for an information provider. (market data, news, market research, economics information)
  • Leading on content buying within a financial services or similar environment.
  • Leading and developing a team
