Researcher, Financial Services - 12 month contract (12 noon - 8pm)

A global professional services firm (advisory and investments) has an urgent requirement for a temporary evening researcher. This contract is to start immediately for approximately 12 months.  This role would be best suited to an experienced researcher from a financial services background, ideally investment banking. The suitable candidate must be able to demonstrate an excellent working knowledge of the key transaction databases such as Dealogic and SDC. Proficient use of these platforms to complete league tables and update market reports across M&A, ECM and Fixed Income is an essential requirement  for this role.

 
The key responsibilities and objectives of this temporary researcher include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing research and analysis on companies, markets and related areas/topics of interest
  • Carry out detailed transaction searches and run league tables using industry standard platforms
  • Producing research that is both high in quality and in accuracy
  • Updating excel worksheets and presentation slides using a variety of sources
  • Operating in a helpdesk environment and responding to enquiries and requests

To be suitable for this vacancy, the follow skills and experience are required:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a senior researcher working in a similar environment
  • Demonstrable skills and experience providing high quality research and analysis
  • Excellent working knowledge of both Dealogic and SDC – across M&A, ECM, Bonds and Loans
  • Excellent knowledge of Bloomberg
  • Strong working knowledge of key financial sector databases such as Bloomberg, Factiva, Factset, Thomson One/Eikon, Capital IQ
  • Specific sector experience advantageous
  • Strong written communication skills, this would include articulating complex information into easily digestible and succinct research pieces
  • Proficient in Microsoft office applications
