Director of Corporate Finance – media / information services sector

Our client an innovative corporate finance and advisory boutique have a requirement for a Director of Corporate Finance. This role will take a lead on transactions with entrepreneur-led media and information businesses.

Our client’s innovative model and deep networks have developed a strong pipeline of transactions for the coming year. The ideal person is ambitious, client-focused, commercially strong and highly persuasive. They will have direct experience of working with the media and information sector.

The successful candidate is highly numerate and literate, able to construct both visual and financial narratives, and has leadership qualities. They will have a proven track record of leading deals with 5-10 years’ corporate finance experience including both UK and International transactions, and ideally experience of fundraising with private equity and debt structuring. They will have strong reporting and financial modeling skills.

Our client is passionate about achieving strong valuations for their entrepreneurial client base.

As the role will scale with the company, the successful candidate will have the appetite and ability to execute transactions, leveraging and working with and growing a team of analysts and financial experts.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to build towards a Board position and earn equity in the company.

Responsibilities:

  • Working with CEO, COO and Board, develop the growth strategy and plan for the Corporate Finance business
  • Manage pipeline of potential deals working closely with the senior leadership team
  • Establish and develop robust corporate finance processes including take-on procedures, pitch materials, standardised deal process documents, financial models, and completed deal follow up plans
  • Lead business development activities for corporate finance business, from top of funnel (approaching new leads generated by the company), to nurturing leads, to bottom of funnel (securingsale mandates)
  • Work with Advisory practice to deliver value creation strategies for retained clients, nurturing them through to exit
  • Contribute to content marketing, through articles, hosting roundtables, and speaking at events/webinars
  • Build and nurture relationships with major buyers across trade and private equity (PE)
