Newly created! A global managed service provider is seeking a Senior/Information Officer to support their client, a leading global law firm.  This newly created role will work closely with the Information Manager and the wider information team to provide professional support to the firm ensuring the firm receives a consistently excellent information and research service.  This role can be based anywhere in the UK (Home based) with one day per month team catch up(London)

Main responsibilities include:

  • Research; answering a range of legal and business information requests from quick requests for cases, legislation and company information to more in-depth legal research
  • Current awareness; supporting the end-to-end management of current awareness, including appropriate facilitation and usage of content aggregators
  • Information Management; updating client intranet pages, maintaining internal process documents and supporting the wider service with admin tasks

To be considered for this role you will need the following skills and experience:

  • Experience in an information services-related role, preferably in the professional service sector
  • Experience organising information and updating knowledge systems
  • Experience using/managing a library catalogue
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Willingness to adapt approaches based on organisation changes
  • Ability to anticipate and resolve problems
  • Dedication to the client and the requirements of external and internal colleagues
  • Technically competent in using Microsoft products
  • Information-related qualification (degree or postgraduate) and or/ equivalent qualification(CILIP chartership) desirable (not essential)
  • Experience of various legal data sources, such as databases containing cases and articles (e.g. via Westlaw and Lexis Nexis)Team player
  • Problem solving – anticipate and resolve problems before they happen
  • Organised, methodical, with an attention to detail
  • Client focused – is dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external clients
