New in!  Global law firm requires a Risk Management Supervisor to provide new business intake and conflicts services to the firm and to supervise a small team of Risk Management specialists based in London and the Far East.  The Risk Management Supervisor is responsible for the day to day activities of the international new business and conflicts team including, completion of AML/KYC requests, processing of new business requests and conduct conflict searches and analysis for new clients and matters.

Responsibilities include:

  • Working closely with the Head of Compliance, International and leaders from the Business Intake and Conflicts Department, to ensure the activities of the international Risk Management specialists align with the Firm’s risk management policies and goals, utilize industry best practices, and assist the Firm attorneys in compliance with the Firm’s conduct of business rules and protocols
  • Working closely with the senior leaders and other supervisors in the Conflicts Department to develop conflict of interest search training programs for the international Risk Management specialists
  • Coordinating and delivering risk management training programs for staff, including quality assurance protocols
  • Reviewing complicated and sensitive business intake customer support issues and escalating appropriately for resolution
  • Working closely with the Head of Compliance International to ensure prompt and accurate responses to KYC and conflict questions from London and Hong Kong
  • Working closely with the leaders from the Business Intake and Conflicts Department to ensure coordination of systems, workflows and outcomes across the Firm’s business
  • Developing strong working relationships with attorneys, legal support staff and staff in the international offices
  • Working closely with the Head of Compliance, International to ensure that the international partners are fully supported in all aspects of the Firm’s new business intake requirements

To be considered for this role you will need the following skills and experience:

  • The ideal candidate will possess five to seven years of related experience, ideally with the London office of a US-based law firm
  • Be familiar with law firm risk management processes (AML/KYC)
  • Be familiar with the intake of new business in a law firm, and conflicts of interest searching, or have similar process management/risk management experience
  • Knowledge of US Rules of Professional Conduct as they relate to conflicts of interest is highly desirable
  • Must have the ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects at once while meeting deadlines and working in a fast paced environment with minimal supervision
  • Strong organizational skills, possess exceptional writing and oral communication skills, have strict attention to detail and possess strong interpersonal skills
  • Advanced degree or M.B.A. preferred
  • Previous supervisory experience and demonstrated leadership abilities is a plus
