A prestigious University is looking for a Librarian to manage two of their campuses in North West England.

The role will include the following responsibilities:

  • Organising and managing the departmental operations to ensure the effective, professional delivery of the library service.

  • Providing training on a range of information resources and products including Lexis/Westlaw, current awareness tools and library systems.

  • Providing study skills support including writing skills, note taking, reading comprehension, presentation skills, numeracy and time management.

  • Working with staff to deliver legal research, knowledge skills and digital literacy skills.

  • Liaise with academic staff and managers regarding delivery of the service.

  • Handling enquiries using hard copy and electronic resources.

  • Budget management.

  • Promote the library service.


To be considered for this role, you will need the following skills and experience:

  • Library and information management qualified.

  • Previous experience in an academic or legal library.

  • Use of electronic resources and library management systems.

  • Budget management.

  • Flexibility in working hours as some evenings or weekend work may be required.
