Information Services Manager, professional membership

Take a look! Professional membership organisation (not for profit) requires an Information Services Manager to manage their Information Services Teams, providing company-wide services, training, guidance and support in the management and use of information, records and knowledge. 

Main responsibilities include

  • Manages the Information Services function on a day to day basis, liaising regularly with key stakeholders to ensure they have access to the knowledge and information they require
  • Works with the Head of Department to review and develop information management strategies that support the organisation's business objectives
  • Actively supports knowledge and information and data management companywide by understanding departmental information needs and outputs
  • Works with Records Manager to ensure a clear effective strategy is in place to capture key information assets
  • Actively explores and advises on management and appropriate sharing of internally generated information
  • Produces guidance and training on working with knowledge and information and data. Facilitates knowledge sharing and assists with research
  • Contributes to and advises on companywide policies and guidance for use of information management systems, procurement and use of external information, records management and archiving
  • Work with IT to ensure that developments and enhancements to the information systems are delivered efficiently and effectively
  • Oversees the development of the Intranet, ensuring its function and content meet the changing needs of the business
  • Develops and maintains adherence to team SLA and KPI targets to demonstrate service delivery
  • Involved in project management where it relates to information service delivery
  • Involved in budget processes as required
  • Keeps up to date with trends in the management of knowledge, information and data

To be considered for this role you will need the following skills and experience

  • An information related qualification or relevant experience
  • Proven Leadership and management skills
  • Good influencer with a track record of achieving ends through effective lobbying, persuading and influencing
  • Proven track record of implementation of knowledge and information management strategies and practices and driving organisational change
  • Good knowledge of legislative and regulatory framework for information governance
  • Experience of using Intranet and other electronic information systems
  • Influencing and negotiating experience and relationship building
  • Experience of making presentations, producing reports and conducting training sessions
