Lead a High-Performing Information Services Team in a Prestigious Legal Environment
A leading provider of legal and business support services is seeking a skilled and experienced Information Manager to head a dedicated Information Services team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive and strategic professional to play a key role in delivering high-quality research and information services to a top-tier law firm client.
Key Responsibilities
- Client Relationship Management – Act as the main point of contact, managing workflows, reporting, service reviews, and strategic planning with the client.
- Team Leadership – Line manage and support a team comprising Senior Information Officers, an Information Officer, and offshore Information Analysts.
- Advanced Research – Conduct and oversee complex legal and business research, ensuring the highest standards of accuracy and relevance.
- Resource & Budget Oversight – Manage the annual budget for information resources, track usage, engage with vendors, and evaluate new tools/databases.
- Project & Service Development – Support and lead projects, implement service improvements, and promote the function to stakeholders and end users.
About You
- Minimum 6 years’ experience in a professional information services environment, ideally within a top 200 UK law firm.
- Confident in dealing with senior stakeholders such as Partners, Business Development, and Marketing Leads.
- Strong expertise in legal research and information databases, with excellent analytical and enquiry-handling skills.
- Proven experience in line management, performance development, and team coordination.
- Skilled in budget management, procurement, and reporting.
- Educated to degree or postgraduate level in Library/Information Management (or equivalent); CILIP chartership desirable.
