Cyber Security Analyst – Education          

A leading London University has a requirement with their IT Services function for an experienced Cyber Security Analyst. This is an operational role that works in support of the Head of Cyber Security to help implement strategy, manage small projects and provide subject matter expertise.

The core responsibilities and objectives of the role include, but are not limited to:

  • Working with multiple other technology specialists to provide support, subject matter expertise and to ensure the security of the network and information.
  • Assisting the Head of Cyber Security to develop security architecture, services and systems
  • Evaluate security weaknesses, vulnerability and risks
  • Evangelize good practice, promote a continuous improvement culture and to be a first point of contact for related security issues
  • Investigate and manage security breaches
  • Undertaking horizon scanning and research for future threats, solutions and opportunities
  • Operating with guidelines of best practice

Suitable candidates for this Cyber Security Analyst will require the following skills and experience:

  • Experience in a similar Cyber security focused role, ideally with a couple of years commercial exposure
  • Preferably a related masters or bachelors degree – Computer Science, Network Security, Cyber Security etc
  • Previous experience in an IT support environment, working to recognized frameworks such as ITIL
  • A good knowledge of Cyber Security best practice, solutions and policies
  • Experience within QA and/or testing, and ideally software/system development frameworks
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
