Competitive Intelligence Analyst

Following the creation of a new function and team within competitive intelligence, a global consultancy firm is seeking an analyst to assist in setting up and delivering outputs as the function establishes over the next 6-12 months. The role is critical in providing insight and intelligence to client facers when either approaching targets or holding conversations existing clients. This role would be well suited to someone relatively new to the industry that is seeking the dual challenges of establishing a function and providing outputs

The successful candidate will have the following responsibilities and objectives:

  • Helping to build networks and stakeholder relationships in a complex and matrixed organization. This would include teams such as market insights, research teams and client facers
  • Collecting, analyzing and providing insight on topics such as competitor tactics, market share, market position and business opportunities
  • Developing initiatives to build awareness and adoption among senior stakeholders
  • Assisting in the development of a competitive intelligence portal including managing and developing content such as reports, newsfeeds and updates
  • Reviewing, tracking and reporting on management information via analytics and dashboards

Suitable candidates will require the following skills and experience:

  • Some previous experience in a similar competitor/competitive intelligence or market intelligence role
  • A good understanding of research methodologies
  • Exposure to market data tools such as FAME or Boardex
  • The ability to translate data or insight into outputs such as reports or dashboards
  • Experience with analytical tools and techniques
  • Very strong communication and relationship building skills
  • The ability to manage challenging stakeholders
  • Ideally a degree in a related subject, but candidates qualified via experience will be equally considered
