Cloud Solution Architect, Azure IaaS, PaaS, SaaS

An opportunity for a Cloud Architect has become available within a highly respected and leading advisory firm that employs over 200,000 staff globally. This role is based out London and interacts with a global technology team. The position has a broad remit and is responsible for architecture and design projects that leverage the latest cloud capabilities from Azure, particularly around IaaS, PaaS and SaaS platforms.

The primary objectives and responsibilities of the Cloud Architect include, but are not limited to:

  • Solution architecture projects for functional and non-functional requirements
  • Designing/architecting complex, scalable solutions
  • Working to company-wide architecture standards and principles
  • Creation, review and re-use of design artefacts and shared assets
  • Collaborating with multiple other function within technology to provide guidance for projects, architecture methodologies, standards and guidelines
  • Advising on emerging and future technology, and the potential application within the firm

To be suitable for this Cloud Architect requirement, the following skills and experience are required:

  • Experience in a similar level of role. Ideally as a Solutions or Cloud Architect in a very large and complex business
  • Considerable experience with architecting and designing solutions for Azure and related technologies
  • Solution architecture experience with cloud platforms - SaaS, IaaS or PaaS
  • Related solutions architecture qualifications such as TOGAF, ITIL or Microsoft
  • Experience incorporating security controls
  • Exposure to service design and development

Experience with some of the following are likely to be of considerable interest:

  • Database technologies such as SQL and SQL Server
  • Experience or exposure to machine learning and/or automation
  • Knowledge of mainstream scripting languages and development methodologies
  • Exposure to BI and/or analytics tools
  • A degree in a related subject such as Software Engineering, Computer Science
