Business Development Specialist – Information Services / Advisory           

A leader in information and advisory services aligned to IT and consumer technology has an opportunity for a business development specialist. This role requires the successful candidate to identify and engage with technology buyers in medium and large UK and Ireland based businesses (typically listed firms) and will be positioning the firms market intelligence and advisory services to help those businesses achieve their own strategic purchasing objectives.

The primary objectives and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Working with both existing leads and identifying new opportunities
  • Operating in a consultative sales manner
  • Targeting and engaging with high level individuals, typically CIO or CTO’s
  • Initiating smart conversations, identifying pain points and building a relationship as a trusted advisor
  • Generating meetings and leveraging the expertise of internal SME’s to close business opportunities
  • Working in a way that is customer focused, rather than KPI driven
  • Assisting in the transition of new accounts to the account management team

Suitable candidates will need to have the following experience and skills:

  • Some previous experience, and an understanding of the IT ecosystem, particularly in medium or large businesses
  • The ability to generate engagement and conversations at a high level within targeted businesses
  • An understanding of the IT landscape, trends and how to position a services or products to help customers
  • A self-starter. This role requires someone who will primarily plan their own week and objectives
  • Strong relationship building skills and the ability to present from time to time
  • Strong writing skills and ability to work with numbers
