This role has arisen as part of a wider initiative within the firm to build it&#39;s first Knowledge Management function. <p>An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Research Librarian to join the global Knowledge and Research function of a leading international law firm with a strong UK, US and EMEA presence.</p>

<p>This is a highly visible, senior role within the Research team, sitting at the intersection of research delivery, content procurement and stakeholder engagement. Alongside supporting complex legal and business research, the role plays a key part in how information resources are sourced, managed, optimised and promoted across the firm. A significant proportion of the position focuses on procurement and vendor management, working in close partnership with a dedicated Vendor and Subscription Manager covering the UK, EMEA and US.</p>

<p><strong>In this information Services Officer role, the primary objectives and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:</strong></p>

	<li>Delivering high&#8209;quality legal and commercial research across a range of practice areas</li>
	<li>Working closely with lawyers in Finance, Corporate and Private Client teams to &nbsp;build trusted, embedded relationships</li>
	<li>Collaborating with the wider Legal Information Services team, sharing expertise and contributing to a consistent service delivery</li>
	<li>Partnering with Knowledge Development Lawyers on firm&#8209;wide knowledge initiatives and projects</li>
	<li>Designing and delivering research and database training for new joiners and established fee&#8209;earners</li>
	<li>Evaluating information resources and subscriptions, advising on renewals and new purchases with commercial awareness</li>
	<li>Promoting the value of the LIS function within the firm and supporting the continued development of services and resources</li>
	<li>Monitoring legal and market developments to contribute to current awareness</li>

In this varied role, the successful applicant will be assuming a role in which they will be the most junior team member and will have the opportunity to learn from a team of experienced information professionals, refining skills research and management of library resources and subscriptions. You&rsquo;ll work closely with lawyers, knowledge professionals, and colleagues worldwide building relationships, supporting projects, and promoting the firm&rsquo;s information services&nbsp;</p>

<p><strong>The primary responsibilities and objectives in the role include, but are not limited to:</strong></p>

<ul>
	<li>Handling research enquiries for lawyers and senior stakeholders, including some competitive intelligence for BD.</li>
	<li>Supporting in the management of print and digital collections across multiple offices, including cataloguing, renewals, and budget support.</li>
	<li>Running inductions for new joiners and trainees</li>
	<li>Contributing to teams current awareness services.</li>
	<li>Supporting knowledge initiatives including maintaining intranet content and promoting best practice across the global team.</li>

<p><strong>To be a suitable candidate for this role, candidates require the following:</strong></p>

	<li>Previous experience in a law library and a qualification in Library or Information Science.</li>
	<li>Strong knowledge of legal research tools such as Westlaw, Lexis+, Practical Law, and familiarity with library catalogues.</li>
