Senior Researcher – corporate finance focus – Manchester, Bristol, Newcastle or Leeds
Exciting opportunity with one of the leading global professional services organisations. This role has a focus on support staff in the corporate finance practice. Experience supporting M&A / corporate finance would be highly beneficial.
We are looking for a Senior Researcher to work in the research team. The research team collaborates with clients in the UK firm to deliver high quality information and research to support the firm’s business development and delivery. The role will report to the Head of Research and be part of a team of 8 researchers.
There is an increasing demand for research and data across the organisation and the way that the business uses data is evolving constantly. The research team needs to be agile to adapt to this fast-changing landscape. As a senior researcher you will provide research support to the UK firm and you will be a self-starter and problem solver who enjoys finding solutions to research challenges. Ideally you have previous experience of working in a business research service for a law firm, banking, professional services or consulting firm.
This is an important role within a team who manage the entire secondary research function of UK firm. The research team supports all aspects of developing and delivering client work and are highly regarded internally for their in-depth research experience.
In this role, the successful candidate:
- Provides advice on how internal clients can undertake their own research
- Proactively consults with internal clients to offer solutions that add value and solve problems
- Brings curiosity to the role and challenge assumptions so that research offerings are continuously improved
- Provide value added research support to complex research queries from across the organisation
- Works innovatively and leverages technology to help the firm make informed business decisions
Requirements
- Extensive technical knowledge of databases such as Eikon and Datastream, Boardex, Capital IQ, Factiva, Dealogic, Pitchbook and Bureau van Dijk FAME and Orbis amongst others
- Able to prioritise a pipeline of requests from across the firm
- Ability to deliver high quality results, often in a time-constrained environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and able to effectively communicate key business messages to a diverse audience
- Strong stakeholder management skills, able to consult on the research brief, manage expectations and delivery timescales and explain the data found during the research process accurately and completely
- Good understanding of financial metrics
- Experience of training staff on a technical competency such as research skills
- Customer / service focused approach to work
- A proactive individual who is able to work effectively in a geographically dispersed team
