Senior Research Analyst - Infrastructure - Law

A very large and successful UK law firm has a requirement for Senior Research Analyst to join their Knowledge team and provide expertise in the arena of infrastructure and construction markets. The purpose of the role is to be an analyst, researcher and SME in the infrastructure sector and to provide insight, commentary and thought leadership that will support the firms pitching, business development and other strategic activities. The role will work on a mix of enquiry led and agenda focused research projects and can be based from offices in the Midlands, North-West, Northern Ireland or Scotland. 

The primary objectives and responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:

  • The delivery of both enquiry-led and agenda based high quality research and outputs such as reports, presentations and slide decks
  • Delivering actionable insight on the infrastructure sector in support of Business Development, Marketing and other strategic activities
  • Taking a lead on complex research projects and engaging with internal and external parties as part of the project process 
  • Developing a deep understanding of the sector, acting as an SME, thought leader and being a point of contact for internal stakeholders
  • Driving a research agenda and driving thought leadership pieces to push and retain the firms position as an expert within the industry
  • Identify relevant resources that the firm can utilise within research, building business cases and managing expenditure on resources
  • Contribute to the firms Knowledge Management capabilities and overarching KM strategy

To be suitable for this role, candidates require the following experience and skills:

  • Considerable experience and expertise around the Infrastructure sector covering subjects such as UK and International construction projects, smart cities, road, rail and water
  • Experience gained as an analyst in a legal, professional services, market intelligence or consulting setting
  • The ability to take information and data from multiple sources and to distil into actionable insights, reports, presentations and slide decks
  • Experience managing conflicting priorities and concurrent research projects
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and presenting skills
  • Experience in utilising a variety of 3rd party resources and databases, conducting primary research and managing resource expenditure  
  • An intellectually curious mindset and an appreciation of environmental factors that interact with the industry such as climate change and ESG
