Senior Learning & Development Manager, global law firm

Sun, sea and tinnies!   A global law firm requires a Senior Learning and Development Manager to work closely with senior stakeholders to assist them to implement Learning & Development (L&D) strategies that supports their business and the firm’s strategy.   You will also contribute towards performance reviews, talent management and recruitment to ensure staff members are performing to a high standard.  Located in either Melbourne or Sydney

Responsibilities include

  • Management, design and delivery of L&D programs
  • Conducting training needs analysis across client groups and implementing appropriate development interventions
  • Facilitate Action Learning Groups following leadership and other particular programs
  • Lead in the design and facilitation of strategic organisational development interventions for key client groups or specific teams
  • Contribute to national and global projects in K&L, BD, HR, Legal Operations and other priority areas
  • Act as an internal adviser on firm-wide initiatives
  • Act as an internal coach to clients
  • Contribute to the development of e-learning and effective use of collaboration tools like Yammer to enhance learning
  • Manage relationships with external consultants, trainers and coaches
  • Supplier management (sourcing, selecting, reviewing, negotiating costs)
  • Discussing individual and team development, working with management to create development plans
  • Review and evaluate development interventions regularly
  • Attend and participate in virtual meetings with stakeholders in different time zones, which could potentially take place outside of local office hours

To be considered for this role you will need the following skills and experience

  • A proven track record of working autonomously and remaining motivated and resilient
  • Experience leading and managing senior leaders (as well as team members) through change
  • Deep understanding of adult learning principles and their practical application in a professional services setting
  • Qualifications and extensive experience in executive level coaching (desirable)
  • Extensive experience in designing and facilitating best practice adult education in a professional services environment
  • Experience in working in a global organisation and working across different time zones and cultures
  • Demonstrated ability to work constructively in a complex and rapidly changing work environment
  • Experience of leading effective culture change programs
  • Experience in needs analysis and program design for senior as well as junior audiences
