Senior Knowledge Solutions Specialist - Law - London

A US law firm with a global presence and UK HQ in Central London has a new requirement within their globally dispersed KM team for Senior Knowledge Solutions Specialist. The successful candidate will be working with intellectually curious and bright colleagues based in both London and New York and the primary objectives are to capture the needs of stakeholders, to leverage internal expertise to design and deliver KM solutions and ultimately to deliver on the continuous improvement of KM that is critical to both client service and business development objectives.

Some of the specific objectives and responsibilities in the role include, but are not limited to:

  • Support and manage the implementation of the lifecycle of products in the Knowledge Solutions portfolio
  • Continuous development of knowledge products over time based on new developments in use cases and enhancement opportunities
  • Gathering business and system requirements from key stakeholders
  • Developing system requirements and create or review User Stories and acceptance criteria
  • Managing releases and execute testing against newly released code
  • Troubleshooting of supported applications and sites including coordination with the firm’s IT department and vendors, when necessary
  • Utilize project management tools to maintain strong communication and timelines
  • Horizon scanning for technology developments with respect to KM-related technologies
  • Manage the structure, design, security, and functionality of portals, libraries, and intranet
  • Leverage, repurpose, and retain existing internal knowledge
  • Develop and maintain product governance with regard to documentation, support and adoption of governance models, procedures, and policies
  • Design and create knowledge tools and know-how repositories to ensure content is current and easily accessible via search/browse

Suitable candidates for this Senior Knowledge Solutions Specialist require the following skills and experience:

  • Experience in a KM or similar solutions focused role, gained in a legal setting or professional services environment
  • An expert in stakeholder management and engagement, particularly in complex organisational structures
  • Highly developed project and programme management skills with demonstrable expertise in project tools and governance
  • Strong leadership skills and the gravitas to influence senior stakeholders
  • The ability to navigate a complex organisational structure to forge relationships, drive collaboration and leverage internal expertise
  • A track history of harvesting the needs of stakeholders, translating these into designs and delivering solutions
  • Knowledge of SharePoint and Atlassian products (Confluence and Jira) and preferably matter/experience management systems 
  • A relevant degree would be extremely desirable, but candidates qualified by experience will be equally considered
