Exciting opportunity to join a specialist advisory business who are the market leader in their niche. Our client work with a huge range of top blue chip clients from across the globe.

Seeking a highly organised, proactive and discerning professional to manage the staffing of client-facing account teams in the UK, to deliver client objectives, drive business performance and support individuals’ development needs. The successful applicant will be wholly dedicated to resourcing and staffing matters, but they will be supported by the existing resourcing team of client-facing employees, who currently manage resourcing alongside their client commitments.

This role reports directly to the Head of Operations and will work to firmly connect team staffing matters to important functions within the firm – office leadership, Sector and Practice Group leads, People, Finance, Fee, Recruitment, and New Business teams.

The responsibilities for this role may include but are not limited to:

  • Provide strategic oversight of the Resourcing function.
  • Maintain ultimate responsibility for team staffing across the London office to ensure adequate staffing coverage for current clients and incoming new business opportunities.
  • Put in place infrastructure to ensure teams are staffed with the right mix of people to support the business and ensure team members are given the opportunity to develop the skills required for long-term success.
  • Develop and report on KPIs to measure effectiveness of the function.
  • Staff client teams in a timely and appropriate manner, working directly with Partners, Directors, and other client handlers to build alignment, considering the needs of the client in terms of seniority, skills, cost / revenue implications, and individual’s personal development and other staffing needs.
  • Lead or support office projects as required, e.g. working with Head of Finance to improve visibility on cost/revenue for client mandates.
  • Work closely with the office management and Recruitment function to ensure recruitment decisions respond to staffing needs.
  • Engage regularly with, and report to, leadership to provide transparency around staffing needs and implications for the business.
  • Continuously improve internal staffing processes, including how data is used in decision making, and support global staffing initiatives as required.
  • Liaise with People Team when employee wellbeing or performance issues are identified.
  • Liaise with Client Review team to respond to client feedback on team structure.
  • Maintain all capacity databases and tracking of active client relationships and internal staffing roster.

Ideal requirements for the role include:

 

  • A minimum 3 years of Staffing and Professional Development experience.
  • Former professional service firm professional who has moved out of consulting or banking with subsequent professional development experience an advantage, or an individual who has performed a similar role in another professional services / consultancy or law firm preferred.
  • People management experience.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication.
  • Professional, organised and diplomatic. Comfortable dealing with senior stakeholders.
  • Works well independently and as a team player, always remaining proactive, confident and motivated.
  • Ability to think on their feet while making high-quality decisions quickly and effectively.
  • Ability to deal with highly confidential information with discernment and objectivity.
  • Commercial and sound business judgement, analytic capability.
  • Ability to take on challenges and has a proactive approach.
  • Empathic to staff needs.
