Researcher/Senior Researcher- Professional Services

A leading professional services firm with interests in the arena of accounting and management consulting has a requirement in their Information Services function that would be extremely well suited to someone looking for their first or second role as an information professional in a corporate setting. In this role, the successful candidate will be responding to business research requests aligned to a number of different service lines and sectors and assisting with some more complex research projects. This role would probably be best suited to a recent library or information graduate with some baseline research experience and looking for an opportunity to develop in a complex, but extremely supportive environment. The role can be based from a number of different London locations and offers hybrid working. 

In this Researcher/ Senior Researcher role, the successful candidate will have the following responsibilities:

  • Responding to business information requests that cover a range of different topics, sectors and service lines
  • Working very closely with more experienced members of the team to learn, and to develop as an Information Professional
  • Assisting with the production of current awareness output aligned to different service lines and sectors that the business supports
  • Working with a wide range of different information sources, online resources and databases
  • Producing more complex reports in line with a research agenda
  • Helping to drive engagement throughout the business with the Information Services function

To be suitable for this role, you will need some or all of the following:

  • Degree educated, and ideally in a discipline with a research element. Library or Information qualifications would be particularly desirable
  • Some experience in a research orientated role or library setting
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and relationship building skills
  • The ability to learn new processes, tasks, and technology and quickly apply these to work based scenarios 
  • Highly organised and the ability to manage conflicting priorities
