Researcher / Law Librarian
A multi-national law firm that has a UK headquarters in London is seeking a qualified Junior Researcher / Law Librarian to join their team. This role will work alongside an experienced team of peers, will interact with colleagues across the globe and would be extremely suitable for someone looking for their second commercial role post qualification.
The primary responsibilities in this role include, but are not limited to:
- Servicing legal and business research requests that will differ in terms of complexity and turnaround times
- Working closely with Lawyers, the wider business services function and other stakeholders
- Promoting a self-service culture with respect to search and the use of electronic information resources
- Participating in a current awareness. Again, likely to be a mix of work in terms of the depth and complexity
- Helping to promote the library and research function throughout the firm
Suitable candidates will need to have the following experience and skills
- A Library or Information related qualification
- Some previous experience in a similar commercial or legal library, with a particular focus on servicing research requests
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work with intellectually curious stakeholders
- Some experience around intranets and mainstream digital research resources such as
- Willing to take on a fairly steep learning curve
