Newly created role! A leading international legal practice with a truly global presence and are renowned for the high quality of their banking, corporate, international capital markets, and litigation advice, are looking for a Research Assistant to support their fee earners and support staff on the West Coast. You will be tasked with locating dockets relevant to the IP and litigation practice in a template format. You will also respond to legal, business, and news requests via Quest. This role can be located anywhere on the West Coast with the option of working from home.
Main responsibilities include:
- Identifying, and summarizing, key points in docket activity
- Providing legal and business research support to the US and Global research teams
- Providing legal and business research and support to attorneys
- Performing legal research using a variety of online resources and database systems
- Conducting research of companies, sectors, and competitors
To be considered for this role you will need the following skills and experience:
- Experience in the use of online docket research and retrieval services
- Ability to communicate and collaborate across all departments and practice areas
- Ability to build and develop relationships at all levels of the organization
- Ability to manage expectations and negotiate deadlines
- Excellent all round research skills in legal and business research
- Strong commercial awareness
- Library and Information Science Degree, JD or MLS equivalent or equivalent experience
- At least 1 year of experience in a legal research role
- Be a credible, capable professional
- Be collaborative and flexible
- Adopt and contribute to the global Library systems
- A flexible approach to working hours
