Research and Knowledge Analyst – Law - London

A Research and Knowledge Analyst is required by one of the worlds largest and most successful law firms. This role is based out of a London Office and is part of a small UK team, but also interacts on a daily basis with a wider global team of around 50. This position is one that would suit someone that loves undertaking corporate research and current awareness as the mainstay of their role, but the ideal candidate will be someone that seeks outs, proposes and delivers on ways to provide a better research and knowledge service to the stakeholder community. The firm is also relocating its offices to a new City of London site in late 2022/early 2023 and the successful applicant will be required to play an important role in that project from a KM perspective.

The responsibilities and objectives in this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Collaborating with a global including Europe and the US team to provide a research service with an emphasis on corporate research
  • Contributing to and providing a current awareness service with a focus on UK law
  • Assisting in the planning, selection and implementation of new technology and resources, including testing and evaluation
  • Procurement, collections and serials management
  • Assisting in the development of content and pages for the firms intranet
  • Driving engagement with KM and research services throughout the firm
  • The delivery of training services at all levels in the firm
  • Helping to plan for a UK HQ move across London, from a KM and Library perspective

To be suitable for this role, candidates need to have some or all of the following:

  • Experience in a similar role within a legal or professional services setting, with an emphasis on research
  • The ability to carry out both legal and corporate research and the ability to prioritize tasks
  • Some experience in the provision of a current awareness service
  • A good understanding of different KM systems and tools including library management systems, intranets, digital and print based research
  • Ideally a LIS or similar qualification, candidates that are qualified by experience will be equally considered
  • Enjoys the challenge of navigating an extremely large and complex firm to build relationships and to engage with stakeholders
  • Strong communication, organization and administrative skills
