Legal Knowledge Engineer 

Exciting opportunity for a Legal Knowledge Engineer. This is an exciting opportunity in a growing regional law firm with a strong culture and big ambitions.

The role will sit within our clients newly formed Knowledge Management team where you will work closely with stakeholders across the firm to establish an effective knowledge-innovation culture. The role will focus on optimising workflows translating the firms requirements into to solutions.

Your key duties will be:

The individual will be a conduit between lawyers, clients, technologies, innovation, process improvement, and business analysis - so we are looking for demonstrable previous experience in a role which may have had at least one or a number of those elements.

  • involvement in a range of innovation initiatives and projects.
  • using technology to automate documents which aligns to house style.
  • configuration of client portals, which meet client needs and provide an effective user experience.
  • efficiency projects to improve legal service delivery, testing and trialling new products
  • participating in business process mapping
  • promoting and presentation of innovative technology to stakeholders, ensuring firm-wide knowledge of systems and processes.

Skills and experience you will have:

  • previous experience in the deployment of solutions using legal technology platforms.
  • experience of design, mapping and documenting processes and implementing solutions to meet problems or challenges in professional services
  • experience of dealing with a range of stakeholders; suppliers; lawyers and business services professionals of all levels.
  • organising and leading workshops with stakeholders to gain a deep understanding of existing processes, to advise and assist with the implementation of solutions.
  • desirable experience of using legal tech solutions such as Luminance, HighQ, Contract Express, Clarilis, KIRA or similar platforms

Key competencies you will need:

  • a strong interest in the law and the use of technology and workflow tools to aid effective knowledge sharing
  • the ability to manage multiple small projects concurrently and to see them through to the end
  • to be highly organised, with sound judgment and attention to detail
  • to be self-initiating and take a pro-active approach towards projects; seek direction and advice as needed but also prepared to take ownership and progress tasks independently
  • the ability to communicate effectively and clearly in a multi-cultural environment
  • credibility, and the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders
  • confidence to work within virtual team setting
  • a strong understanding and ability to promote connections between other business units
