Knowledge Systems Adviser - Law - Manchester
One of the worlds foremost law firms has a requirement for a Knowledge Systems Adviser to join their KM Services team and ideally be based out of their Manchester office. This role offers an opportunity to join an extremely large and mature Knowledge Management function and will play a key role in leading technical support on the Intranet, enterprise search and know-how collections. This position has responsibility for direct supervision of some less experienced members of the KM Systems team and will interact with stakeholders across the firms many locations
In this role, the principal responsibilities and objectives include, but are not limited to:
- Leading support, development and governance activities on the firms SharePoint 2019 intranet platform
- Working closely with publishers, editors and content owners to review and manage content, as well as the creation of new sites
- Maintenance and development of the firms know-how collections and the related taxonomies
- Management and development of the firms enterprise search engine in partnership with the technology supplier
- Define, develop and deliver metrics to measure and report on KM systems engagement and use
- To lead, mentor and to develop the capabilities of a team of 3 assistants
- Horizon scanning to ensure that the firm can gain a competitive advantage by understanding and engaging with the latest KM technology
- Taking the lead for all processes, methodologies and governance around KM systems in the firm
Suitable candidates will require the following experience and skills:
- An accomplished KM/Information Systems professional or Intranet expert with leadership skills and experience
- A strong technical knowledge of SharePoint, particularly from a publishing and content perspective
- An ability to code in HTML/CSS would be extremely beneficial
- A deep understanding of the role of knowledge and information management in a legal or enterprise setting
- Highly developed project management skills, particularly for small and medium sized projects
- The ability to lead and mentor others
- An extremely capable communicator and relationship builder, particularly within a complex organisational setting
