Knowledge Manager - Global Law Firm - London

A UK law firm with a global presence has a requirement for a Knowledge Manager to join the firm and be based out of the London HQ. This is a role that would suit someone that has held a similar Knowledge Management role and is either seeking a new challenge or possibly a slight step up in responsibility. In this firm the Knowledge Manager will play a critical role in the delivery and accessibility of the KM resources and services required by legal teams and ultimately, to ensure that the needs of clients are serviced to the highest standards.

In this Knowledge Manager role, the successful applicant will have the following objectives and responsibilities:

  • Manage, maintain and develop the processes aligned to the firms knowledge content strategy
  • Assume the ownership of the firms knowledge systems and solutions such as search, taxonomies and know-how repositories
  • The development of new KM solutions and the continuous improvement of current solutions
  • Driving awareness and adoption of knowledge solutions across the firm, and evangelising a knowledge sharing culture
  • Oversee the development of process and policy relating to services and solutions in the firm and associated governance
  • Assuming the role of a project manager for the lifecycle of KM projects

Suitable candidates for this Knowledge Manager role will need the following skills and experience:

  • Experience in a similar Knowledge Manager, or closely related role in a legal or professional services setting
  • A previous remit that has encompassed KM systems, content strategy and governance
  • High level stakeholder, interpersonal and communication skills. The ability persuade and engage
  • The ability to manage conflicting priorities, projects and stakeholder requirements
  • Demonstrable experience driving both engagement and a knowledge sharing culture in previous roles
  • A strong appreciation of developments in the wider KM industry including an element of competitor intelligence
  • A related degree would be extremely beneficial, but candidates qualified by experience will be equally considered
