Knowledge Management Systems Manager – prestigious law firm
Our client a prestigious law firm require a Knowledge Management Systems Manager to join their London OR Manchester office.
This role will involve the following responsibilities.
- To manage KM technology projects (including new projects, phased releases, system migrations and version upgrades), plus oversee KM system business as usual (BAU).
- To work with the firm’s Innovation and IS teams to investigate use of AI tools to help with matter and document profiling (RAVN), also use of external data sources/feeds to support matter profiling in Foundation.
- New KM projects currently underway/in the pipeline at the firm include: Legal Knowledge Search, RAVN, Foundation, MS Teams, Closing Sets, among others.
- BAU work includes supporting all of the systems and overseeing user adoption, use and queries.
- Help support the use of experience management (Foundation), including working with practice groups globally to design data points and collection thresholds, and to promote user adoption.
- Key system migration/decommissioning projects currently include migration from legacy intranets to the firm’s new, SharePoint intranet migration from the firm’s legacy Knowledge database to Legal Knowledge Search; and decommissioning of the firm’s Closing Set/Bibling database
- Upcoming version upgrades include a SharePoint upgrade in 2021, which will involve working with the firm’s IS team to deploy the new version and test/ modify current content where needed.
- To mentor and guide KM Central team members to improve their skills and oversee their involvement in KM systems work and special projects.
- To help develop taxonomies and data mapping between KM/firm systems
- Key firm adviser on new and emerging KM technologies.
To be considered candidates must have:
- Strong experience of knowledge systems
- Strong understanding of information systems and classification principles including experience management and enterprise search
- Experience working in the legal or professional services sector in a knowledge /information management role
- Experience guiding the work of KM team members
