Knowledge Management Analyst – Law Recruiter: Tim Palmer
A global law firm has an opportunity within their Knowledge Management function for a Knowledge Management Analyst to undertake a broad and systems focused role that will include managing small projects, analytical work and a range of other tasks that will help the firm to develop its KM systems capability. This is a role that would suit someone who has some similar experience, or equally someone who has a transferable skillset and an interest in this area.
The primary objectives and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Managing, maintaining and developing a KM database
- Intranet support including the development of KM specific area
- Contributing to the marketing of KM systems capability both internally and externally
- Analysis work. This includes intranet usage, contribution to KM from lawyers and data specific tasks
- Working with a wide-ranging stakeholder community including KDL’s, Partners, IT and the wider KM/IM function
- Production of systems/training documentation and articles for marketing purposes
- This is a role where considerable training will be supplied and as such it is an expectation that the successful candidate will undertake a considerable amount of formalized and ongoing learning.
Suitable candidates for this Knowledge Management Analyst role will need the following:
- Ideally, some experience in a similar role either within KM or possibly as a paralegal. Although this could also suit a graduate with some commercial exposure
- A degree in a related discipline such as Law, Information Science or IT
- An understanding of information systems and classification principles, and strong IT skills
- A passion for knowledge and information systems
- The ability to effectively communicate and engage with a wide-ranging stakeholder community
- An ability to manage a steep learning curve
