Fabulous Opportunity! A global law firm requires a Knowledge Development Lawyer – Litigation & Regulatory to support the L&R Group's Knowledge strategy and the firm's overarching Knowledge approach, enhance the quality of the team’s legal practice, and be a role model for technical knowledge, skill, and advisory techniques in the Group.  You will also champion the firm's vision for Knowledge across the Group. The Firm’s International Knowledge strategy is delivered by Knowledge Professionals in collaboration with dedicated Knowledge Partners in a manner that is tailored to meet the needs of each Group and Sector.  The role can be performed successfully from any of the firm’s UK offices. The role also has a client facing element so would suit someone interested in keeping on top of hot topics and trends in disputes/regulatory work and English law. Whilst prior experience as a PSL is desirable, this role might also suit someone with the appropriate background moving from a fee earning role into the Knowledge environment.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Identifying, developing, and maintaining the knowledge resources required for the L&R practice to deliver high quality services to its clients efficiently.
  • Supporting the existing comprehensive training programme.
  • Working closely with the central Knowledge Services team to ensure the L&R practice has access to the external databases and information resources it needs.
  • Capturing and promoting sharing of expertise, mandates, and feedback from lawyers.
  • Acting as a trusted advisor in relation to English law and CPR queries, directing research, and acting as a sounding board.
  • Ensuring that lawyers are kept aware of legal, regulatory, and commercial developments and providing analysis of the impact of significant developments.
  • Working closely with the BD team, associates, and partners to support research and current awareness needs of clients.
  • Working with colleagues in the firm’s Operational Group to help develop and promote best practice in legal disputes process and in use of disputes tools and technology.
  • Sharing knowledge best practice and training across the Group internationally.
  • Attending external training conferences to keep up to date with relevant developments in the law, business environment, and Knowledge.

To be considered for this role you will need the following skills and experience:

  • Excellent technical academic credentials and broad in-depth relevant practical experience.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Highly organised and able to co-ordinate and deliver projects.
  • Strong knowledge of the CPR and black letter law is essential.
  • Experience of developing knowledge resources and delivering training.
  • Experience in financial services disputes or an interest in this area.
  • Experience in Corporate Crime and Regulatory Investigations beneficial but not essential.
  • Currently working in practice or already working in a PSL or Knowledge Development role.
