Knowledge Assistant - Systems and Legal Technology - Law

An opportunity for a professional with a passion for systems and a real interest in legal technology has become available within an international law firm. This is a role that will be based out of Bristol and would be suitable for someone that is relatively new to knowledge management, but would love the challenge of working primarily with KM systems and learning about legal technology solutions such as HighQ

This Knowledge Assistant requirement has the following responsibilities and objectives:

  • Being the primary point of support and advice for all KM systems enquiries in the firm
  • Assisting in the delivery, maintenance and support of the firms extranet which is on a HighQ platform
  • Interfacing with clients of the firm with enquiries and requests for help with the extranet
  • Engaging with the firm to establish their requirements from the intranet and turning those requirements into solutions
  • Managing and updating content solutions for the intranet and creating reports on usage and engagement.
  • Identifying training needs and opportunities for the firms Knowledge Management systems and designing and delivering appropriate training, related materials and documentation
  • Undertaking a steep learning curve, particularly with respect to technology

To be a suitable candidate for this Knowledge Assistant role, candidates will require the following:

  • Some experience in a similar systems related role. Ideally this would be intranet or KM focused, but candidates offering experience in other systems where user engagement and continuous improvement are paramount, will be equally considered
  • Ideally, a related degree in Law or a Knowledge Management related discipline.
  • Some experience in a professional services environment or law firm would be extremely beneficial
  • Very strong interpersonal, communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • A passion for working with systems and technology
  • The ability to quickly learn new systems and technology concepts and to quickly apply this new knowledge to real world situations
  • The ability to take responsibility for managing multiple and concurrent small projects
