New LIS graduate role! A global law firm is seeking a knowledge assistant to join its content and systems team. The content and systems team are responsible for knowledge systems and strategy for the firm’s international network. These systems include their intranet, knowledge management systems and automated current awareness programme. These are essential systems to enable the efficient operation of a knowledge-based business and connect the firm’s lawyers seamlessly with the information they need to deliver excellent client service.
Main responsibilities include:
- Monitoring the various team mailboxes on a rota basis, dealing with daily direct enquiries via phone and email
- Maintain and develop the firm’s intranet including advising content editors, delivering content editor training and dealing with content editor enquiries and requests
- Work with content editors and content owners on content management, including regular review and cleansing of content, new site creations, site restructures and regular search testing
- Process and maintain the firm’s legal know-how collection
- Create, deliver and maintain the automated daily news alert service to keep lawyers and operational teams up to date with the latest legal, business and industry developments
- Support on key projects such as document automation, new software tools, knowledge share process improvement etc
To be considered for this role you will need the following skills and experience:
- Understanding of knowledge management and/or information systems
- Strong IT skills; prior experience with SharePoint helpful but full training will be provided
- Excellent administrative and communication skills, including high quality of written and spoken English
- Proactive, willing to challenge and have the confidence to identify and recommend changes and improvements
- Commitment to excellence with strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication, problem solving, planning and organisational skills
- Strong team player
