Knowledge and Information Specialist                Recruiter: Tim Palmer

A multinational law firm with 2 offices in the South East of England (including London) has a newly created requirement for a Knowledge and Information Specialist. This role, which has a slight bias toward knowledge systems would be extremely suitable for a KM professional who has an infectious passion for knowledge and information services and can drive engagement, identify opportunities to better utilize available resources and deliver solutions. This role could be based in either London or in Hampshire.

The responsibilities and objectives of this Knowledge and Information role include, but are not limited to:

  • Engage with stakeholders to establish their requirements from knowledge management 
  • Propose and deliver solutions and projects that address those needs
  • Drive engagement from key stakeholders and build awareness of KM capabilities across the firm
  • Manage projects and programmes around both knowledge systems and services
  • Management, maintenance and continuous improvement in relation to current systems
  • Act as a point of contact for lawyers and other stakeholders for knowledge or information systems enquiries or support requests

Suitable candidates for this role will need the following skills and experience:

  • Previous experience in a similar knowledge or information services role, most likely at KM/IM Officer level
  • A library science or related qualification
  • Broad experience in both knowledge management systems and information services
  • Highly developed interpersonal, stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Experience managing projects to include the identification of needs, proposing/delivering solutions and evaluating success
  • Strong IT and systems skills. This would include a good understanding of mainstream digital information resources
