Junior Researcher - Law - Manchester, Leeds or Birmingham based

An international law firm with multiple UK locations has a requirement for a Junior Researcher. The role can be based from a number of locations and will form part of large and geographically dispersed team. The primary objective of the role is to provide an enquiry led research service to lawyers and other key stakeholders across a range of legal and business topics. The role will also contribute to the current awareness output of the team, assist in training users of research resources and assist in resource management. This role would be really well suited to someone with an intellectually curious mindset who is at the start of their career as an information professional.

To be suitable for this role, candidates will need the following experience and skills:

  • Some previous experience in a law firm or a similar research orientated role would be ideal but is not essential
  • Exposure to online resources typically utilised by law firms such as WestLaw or LexisNexis, perhaps through a Law or Library Science related degree
  • Outstanding customer facing and client interaction skills
  • The ability to work in a role that carries a steep learning curve
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage conflicting priorities 
  • An intellectually curious mindset and a passion for research
