Developer - Knowledge Management and IP Systems

A global Management Consulting firm with a UK office location in Reading has a requirement for an experienced developer to join their team and play a key role in the development, testing and integration of their cloud based IP and KM systems using API's. The role will also serve the purpose of providing a wider development and system support capability within the firm. The role will be South East based, but the successful candidate will need to be able to travel to Reading from time to time.

The primary objectives and responsibilities in the role include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop, test and implement apps and integrate different cloud platforms using APIs to deliver automation, innovation, and scalable solutions to ensure a great end user experience and engagement across the IP and Sales Support, Marketing and Training departments (40%)
  • Manage existing tools in collaboration with the existing systems expert  – fixing issues, improving back-end logic and user experience; build redundancy so more than one person has sufficient expertise to problem solve (40%)
  • Support and inspire innovation in Systems working with the team’s manager, the systems lead, end-user champions, global General Manager, and other key (senior) stakeholders

Suitable candidates for this role will need the following experience and skills:

  • Experience gained in a similar Developer role that mixes elements of software development, integrations and support
  • Experience with API's and cloud platforms such as Office 365, Salesforce and cloud storage apps
  • Experience building web-based business applications and workflows
  • A continuous improvement mindset
  • Managing projects and workflow end to end with limited daily supervision, engaging stakeholders, meeting deadlines and solving bottlenecks
  • The ability to work effectively as a part of a both a localised and geographically dispersed virtual team
