International law firm with headquarters in London and offices across Asia, Europe and the Middle East require an Intranet Manager to shape the strategic development of an already successful intranet and manage its day-to-day operation.

Working closely with the legal practice and business services teams globally, the intranet manager will develop and deliver a clear vision for the platform, and ensure that it is developed, maintained and governed effectively to meet the current and future needs of the firm. The firm is about to embark on a project to migrate its current intranet to SharePoint Online and the successful candidate will play an integral part of planning and delivering the firm's new and international brand.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Developing an intranet strategy and roadmap, setting out a clear vision for the future
  • Leading the planning and delivery of the firm's new SharePoint Online intranet
  • Ensuring that the intranet is effectively governed, managed and maintained by implementing policies, best practice and agreed standards
  • Engaging and influencing partners, business leaders and other senior stakeholders to gain agreement on intranet strategies to meet their business needs
  • Introducing greater consistency across the entire intranet and ensuring information architecture is focused on the needs of users
  • Driving the continued adoption of the intranet and overseeing communication about the intranet
  • Overseeing new intranet requests, recommending effective solutions and leading implementation
  • Support a global network of intranet content owners and local champions and lead and co-ordinate their engagement and activities
  • Editing content across the platform, alongside the intranet executive and content owners
  • Leading an intranet steering committee
  • Establishing performance indicators and using feedback and analytics data to monitor performance
  • The line management, and development, of an intranet executive, including identifying training needs
  • Liaising with the IT department on technical developments and maintenance
  • Establishing and maintaining external vendor relationships where applicable

To be considered for this role you will need the following skills and experience:

  • Be articulate, with a strong sense of personal responsibility, diplomacy and judgement
  • Proven experience of intranet management
  • A track record of strategic planning
  • Have experience of change and stakeholder management
  • An understanding of project management
  • An understanding of internal communications
  • Have significant SharePoint knowledge; SharePoint Online experience will be beneficial
