An innovative and creative consulting firm requires an Information Services Procurement administrator to join its research team. This role will work with the Director of Research.

Ideal candidates might be:

  • Working in content/information buying for a law firm or similar professional services setting.
  • Part of a contributors team at a data terminals vendor or similar information licensing environment
  • Working as a researcher with an interest in content buying and excellent administration skills

This role is based in London but it would be possible to work from home circa 2 days a week.

This is a new role our client is looking for am Information Services Procurement Administrator who will add their wide-ranging skills and expertise across our extensive external information sources portfolio (from the FT to Factiva to financial data platforms). This person will work collaboratively with the team and wider colleagues in further developing a culture of vendor management and tool usage excellence, monitoring usage and supporting adoption as well as bringing new ideas and approaches focused on improving individual and organisational capability.

There is scope for this role to be further developed, allowing the successful candidate to make a significant contribution to the team, from utilising new tools to developing new approaches and ideas. Applying a curious mindset approach to the role is widely encouraged.

Key Responsibilities:

Negotiation, Management and Usage

  • Contract Negotiation: Work with the Director of Research to manage and run the negotiations across a broad information management portfolio. Manage the contract calendar and administration to plan upcoming negotiations and renewals.
  • Contract Management: Ensure all contract are fit for purpose and work with Legal colleagues on Terms and Conditions to ensure these meet the needs of the business.
  • Contract Administration: Ensure all contracts (not just information contracts) are recorded correctly on the contracts database. Be the contact for all information management questions and user changes.
  • Contract Planning: Work with colleagues across the business too identify and test new information sources.
  • Usage: Work with the vendors to regularly monitor usage and drive good usage behaviour and change approach through working with users on improving their searches. Additionally ensure users lists are kept current.

Supporting the team

  • Helping drive the team forward and working closely with colleagues across the business on contract best practice, identifying and implementing new ideas and acting as an internal consultant.
  • Sharing information / best practice to help develop team outputs, as well as bringing new data ideas from existing resources.
  • Delivering training to new joiners and refresher training to colleagues across the firm.
  • Undertaking administrative duties including arranging vendor training sessions.

Candidate Profile:

  • Experience undertaking a wide range of contract administration and management with a strong attention to detail
  • A good understanding of, and application of, contract clauses and regulation compliance to ensure contracts are fit for purpose.
  • Critical and innovative thinker with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to turn ideas in to solutions.
  • Strong verbal communication skills with a very strong attention to detail.
  • Experience of implementing new tools and approaches across a range of stakeholders.
  • Working collaboratively at all times and interacting confidently with a wide range of audiences.
  • An ability to establish and maintain a network of internal contacts and share key insights with colleagues.
  • A strong interest in business and current affairs, not least to identify relevant products.
  • Experience of being a self-starter and able to work with levels of ambiguity.
  • Extremely well organised with the ability to manage their own time and respond to tight deadlines. Diligent and thorough in executing processes.
