Information Resources Executive – Manchester OR Leeds – Law    

One of the worlds largest and most successful law firms has a requirement within their internationally dispersed Information and Research function for an Information Resources Executive. The primary objective of the role is to provide expertise around the evaluation, procurement and management of information resources. The position also plays a key part in the process of ensuring that the wider Knowledge function of firm has access to the most appropriate legal and business research sources required to effectively service the needs of clients. The role will be based out of Manchester.

In this role the primary objectives of the role include, but are not limited to:

  • Working in support of the Information Resources Manager
  • Provide guidance and expertise around information resource procurement, evaluation and management
  • To be a source of expertise in relation to information sources required for specific client work
  • To evaluate and monitor the usage of information resources including reporting on usage, feedback, statistics and outputs
  • To support decision making processes around cost control and ROI
  • Provide a point of contact for teams that are seeking support around licensing, copyright, access and requests for additional resource access
  • Driving engagement and awareness of information resources across the firm
  • Allocating information requests to appropriate teams and resources

To be a suitable for this role, candidates will require the following experience and skills:

  • Experience gained in a similar information resources role, preferably within legal or the wider professional services sector
  • A very strong knowledge of the information resources landscape, products and vendors
  • The ability to build relationships across a complex and geographically dispersed stakeholder network
  • Experience managing multiple small projects and conflicting priorities
  • The ability to interpret data and to present when required
