Information and Research Specialist - Life Sciences Aligned - London

One of the worlds leading consulting firms has an opportunity for a Information Specialist to join their Research and Information team and play a key role in the development of their Research and Knowledge Management capabilities in support of their Life Sciences practice. The role provides operational support through the provision of a research service, advisory services around the best tools to support the needs of consultants and internal enablement to help key stakeholders make best use of available resources in the firm. The underlying and long term objective is to develop the long term capability of this function in the firm.

The primary objectives and responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing an enquiry led research service aligned to the Life Sciences practice
  • Utilising research tools such as EvaluatePharma, Pharmaprojects, PriceRX, Cortellis, Symphony, Datamonitor Healthcare
  • Evaluating research resources, seeking out new resources, developing engagement and training around these resources
  • The provision of a Current Awareness service aligned to Life Sciences
  • Relationship building and driving engagement throughout the firm with the Information and Research function
  • Navigating the complexities of stakeholder management in a very large and geographically dispersed firm
  • The provision of training, research guides and other supporting materials and presentations

To be suitable for this role, candidates will require a mix of the following experience and skills:

  • Previous experience in a Research, Information or Knowledge Management role
  • Ideally, some experience aligned to the Life Sciences sector or a demonstrable passion for operating in this sector
  • Highly developed relationship building, interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, preferably gained in a complex corporate environment
  • Experience utilising and managing online research resources, ideally this would include tools such as EvaluatePharma, Pharmaprojects, PriceRX, Cortellis, Symphony, Datamonitor Healthcare
  • Strong problem solving skills and the ability to manage multiple conflicting priorities and tasks
  • A commercial mindset and an aspiration to continually seek ways to add value for the firm
  • A Library or Information qualification would be extremely useful, but is by no means an essential requirement
