Graduate Law Librarian - London

A recently qualified or graduate library professional is required by a law firm that in terms of revenue, partners and lawyers is one of the biggest in the world. This would be a great opportunity for someone that is new to industry to join an experienced team in their London (City) office and equip themselves with skills and experience in research, current awareness, managing resources and working with KM systems.

In this role, the responsibilities and objectives include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing a research service to lawyers, business development functions and to the wider business services teams
  • Participating in the firms current awareness services and bulletins
  • Providing training and inductions to library users, new trainees, lawyers and business services staff
  • Managing subscriptions, collections and cataloguing library materials
  • Using SharePoint to update and provide new content on the firms intranet

To be a suitable applicant for this role, candidates will require the following:

  • A Library and Information Science Bachelors or Masters degree, or related
  • Some previous experience in a similar environment would be extremely beneficial 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to organise and prioritise tasks
  • Very comfortable working with technology and databases 
  • The ability to manage a steep learning curve
