Business Development Lead

An experienced and successful Business Development Lead is required by a leader in technology focused consulting, insight and market intelligence. The role requires someone to operate in the role of a hunter and is focused on developing business opportunities among firms that are predominantly technology vendors and sit within the SMB marketplace in the UK and Ireland. The successful candidate will benefit from sitting behind an extremely well-known brand and will be the type of person that can generate high-level and engaging discussions with C-suite executives.

The core responsibilities and objectives include but are not limited to:

  • Developing and closing on new business opportunities among SMB technology firms and vendors
  • Selling market intelligence, bespoke research and consulting services all aligned to technology
  • Mentoring less experienced sales professionals
  • Planning, delivering and reporting on a sales strategy and applying a consultative approach
  • Building and developing relationships with C-Suite executives, in particular CIO, CTO and CMO
  • Leveraging internal expertise from a huge network of analysts, consultants and marketing functions

Suitable candidates will need the following experience and skills:

  • An experienced and successful track record in business development, ideally with some experience mentoring and guiding less experienced sales professionals
  • Experience within the technology arena and selling products, solutions or services to technology vendors
  • The ability to strike up engaging conversations, and to build relationships with C-suite executives
  • Demonstrable skills in applying a strong process to sales and business development activity
