Business Development Director – SME Technology Vendors

A global leader in Market Intelligence, Research and Consulting that is aligned to IT and consumer technology has a requirement for Business Development Director to join their London based team. In this role the successful candidate will lead in the development of sales opportunities among businesses that are typically technology firms with revenues of less than £500m. The role will usually interact with C-level executives

In this role the primary responsibilities and objectives include, but are not limited to:

  • Leading business development activity within the UK, Ireland and Western European region
  • Identify opportunities for business development among SME technology vendors
  • Building relationships with and selling to c-level executives
  • Offering products and services that include market intelligence, technology research and consulting services
  • Devising a strategic approach to BD activities and providing regular feedback and reporting on performance

Suitable candidates for this role will need the following experience and skills:

  • An established business development or sales leader within the technology space
  • Ideally, experience gained within a consulting, market intelligence or technology firm.
  • A strong understanding of the technology landscape including the vendors, the supplier eco-systems and hot topics
  • The ability to strike up engaging conversations with prospects and existing clients, typically at C-level
  • Adept at identifying decision makers, understanding customer pain points and framing solutions that add value.
  • The ability to leverage a team of analysts, thought leaders and marketers to underpin sales activities
