Account Manager - Technology Research
A global leader in the provision of technology research and market intelligence has an opportunity for an Account Manager to join their sales function and play a key role in developing both an existing portfolio of customers and developing new business opportunities in a territory that is predominantly in the UK and Ireland. The profile of business is typically medium or large technology vendors and the roles is expected to interact with C-Level individuals that have would benefit from technology research and consulting services.
In this Account Manager role the primary objectives and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Maintain and develop an existing portfolio of UK, Ireland and Western European customers
- Develop new relationships internally and within subsidiaries of the portfolio
- Develop new business opportunities (constituting around 30-40% of the role)
- Engage and initiate smart conversation with senior individuals in those organisations, typically CIO, CTO or CMO's
- Undertake a role where structure, planning and smart working are considered key to success
To be suitable for this Account Manager role, candidates must have the following skills and experience:
- A successful track record in account management or business development, ideally in the information services, market intelligence or technology sector
- The ability to initiate smart and meaningful conversations with C-Level individuals
- The ability to identify potential challenges or pain points for customers and to help frame solutions
- Generating long term relationships that move to the point of being a trusted advisor
- Ideally, an interest or experience with technology such as Software, TMT, IOT, hardware or devices
